Homemakers and Companions
Reliable, respectful and compassionate in-home caregiver services
Comfort and Companionship
If you or a loved one in Connecticut requires a homemaker or companion, Continuum Home Health care can provide the reliable, compassionate and respectful in-home caregiver services you need. Our team of healthcare professionals will work with you to help you identify and select the best home support treatment options.
What do homemakers and companions do?
Homemakers perform light household duties such as cooking and meal preparation, general housecleaning and running errands. They also remind the patient when it’s time to take medication, and help the patient follow a prescribed diet. Their focus is on maintaining patients’ households rather than providing hands-on personal care.
Companions provide comfort and companionship to patients who, for safety or medical reasons, should not be left alone. Some may also assist with household tasks.
Working toward recovery and independence
At Continuum Home Health, we are committed to the empowerment of our patients and their families. As part of our company’s mission, our companions and homemakers promote well-being and self-respect by helping our patients live at home for as long as possible while safely maximizing their day-to-day independence.
When does a homemaker or companion make sense?
• if someone is needed to help keep the house in order
• to assist with cooking
• to help with following a prescribed or restricted diet
• to run errands
• to remind your loved one to take medications
• to provide companionship and comfort
