Home Health Aides
Dependable, compassionate and respectful support
Continuum’s Connecticut-based home health aides can keep a recovering patient or an elderly loved one safe, independent and happy while helping with personal care and keeping their home in order. Our home health aides offer dependable, compassionate and respectful emotional support and care to people with conditions such as arthritis, fractures and dementia.
This kind of assistance can make the difference in whether or not an elderly family member is able to remain at home. Continuum’s home health aides are trained and screened, so you can feel comfortable welcoming them into your home.
What do home health aides do?
Home health aides’ duties and the frequency of their weekly visits are determined by the visiting nurse [link to Skilled Nursing page] and will vary depending on the patient’s needs. Home health aides provide assistance with personal hygiene, including bathing and hair cleaning, mouth and denture care, and routine skin care and inspection.
Working in conjunction with nurses and therapists, home health aides may also assist patients with prescribed exercise, therapy or self-administered treatments. Physical and emotional problems are reported to the primary nurse.
Working toward recovery and independence
At Continuum, we are committed to the empowerment of our clients and their families. As part of our company’s mission, our home health aides promote well-being and self-respect by helping our patients stay at home and maximize their day-to-day independence.
